A beautiful timeless story

a produce of Greece from organic farming

Each fall, our family in Messinia, Greece undertakes an annual tradition: The harvesting of our centuries-old olive groves. Within these groves are the very trees that our great-grandparents – and their grandparents before them – planted, cultivated and picked. Our extra virgin olive oil is never diluted or commingled with inferior oils. And it is always fresh – we deliver only current-season product to our customers. Our product is never touched by outside hands – every facet of our production, from caring for our trees to shipping our oil to you, is handled by our family.

Virgin and not refined

crushed with high pressure mecanical mills

Extra virgin olive oil is made simply by crushing olives and extracting the juice. It is the only cooking oil that is made without the use of chemicals and industrial refining. It’s simply the juice of fresh, healthy olives which contains, more than any other grade, the health-promoting nutrients that olive oil is famous for. It must be produced entirely by mechanical means without the use of any solvents, and under temperatures that will not degrade the oil.

Taste the pure quality

a good extravirgin olive oil is...

Look for pleasant fruit flavors characteristic of fresh ripe or green olives. Ripe fruit yields oils that are milder, aromatic, buttery, and floral, while green fruit yields oils that are grassy, herbaceous, bitter, and pungent. Fruitiness also varies with the variety of olive.

Fresh olives oil will have a mostly pleasant acrid flavor sensation on the tongue.

A peppery sensation in the mouth and throat is a sign of abundant nutrients in good, fresh extra virgin olive oil.

Production process in a nutshell

Our harvesting is done entirely by hand, with electric rakes as the only form of technology. The olives are taken directly to be crushed using the first cold press method – an all-natural process that uses only pressure to produce a higher-quality, lower-acidity oil. From there, the oil is shipped and bottled without any form of blending or diluting. It is a pure and simple process used to produce the finest natural olive oil . We harvest the best olives in the world, crush them, bottle the oil, and offer it directly to you. No pesticides, no preservatives, no commingling, no processing, no middlemen and no corporate intervention.

The diffrence that matters

high nutrients. low acidity.

To be identified as “Extra Virgin,” an olive oil must have an acidity ratio below 0.8%. Theros Olive Oil not only meets this standard, but greatly exceeds it, always carrying an acidity of 0.45% or lower – up to half that of other common retail brands. Why is low acidity important? In a word: Purity. Higher acidity is the result of subpar oil, or commingling with impure product, chemicals or preservatives. Eliki Olive Oil never employs such practices. This is 100% pure, unblended, beyond-Extra-Virgin oil. Try it and the difference will be immediately apparent.

Natural beauty for your skin

only organic ingredients

Since ancient times, people have taken advantage of the skin-softening benefits of this miracle oil. When blended with lye to make a soap, olive oil contributes to smoother, more elastic skin. Olive oil soap cleans your skin without stripping away the natural oils, so your skin is not going to end up dry and flaky after it’s use. Glycerin, a byproduct of the soap-making process, is retained in most natural olive oil soaps. Glycerin is highly moisturizing, giving your skin a high level of elasticity.
